Stellite 6B is a CoCrW alloy. It is widely used in wear
environments where its low coefficient of friction minimizes the
risk of seizure and wear, even in applications without lubrication.
The material has extraordinary cavitation resistance even under
constant erosion conditions. It can maintain high hardness when the
temperature rises and restores its original hardness when the
temperature drops. This unique property, combined with good
corrosion resistance to a wide range of media and excellent
mechanical properties associated with its excellent wear resistance
properties, makes Alloy Stellite 6B a versatile alloy that can be
used in many applications involving wear, corrosive and high
temperature applications.
Stellite 6B has excellent wear characteristics, hot hardness, good corrosion
resistance and excellent mechanical properties, making it the
material of choice in some of the most demanding wear applications.
These applications include aerospace bearings, turbine corrosion

Heat treatment
Solution Heat Treatment
Product shall be solution heat treated by heating to 2250°F ±25°F
(1232°C ±14°C) for a time depending on the cross-sectional area,
but not less than 15 minutes, and at a temperature equivalent to
resting air or faster cooling.
